The Caliber 33 is a highly responsive blue water capable cruising yacht, with a long keel and cutaway foot to reduce wetted area, delivering exceptional speed and stability. A high ballast to displacement ratio (48%) contributes to stability. Her oversized skeg hung rudder, and a well-balanced sail plan, give her excellent tracking ability and makes her a joy to steer in all wind conditions. She bears Caliber's renowned attention to detail and quality from her structural integrity to her handcrafted customized teak interior. Caliber quality is on par with many other high end boats, such as Island Packet, Tartan, and Sabre. Space for 6 persons in double berths in the 2 staterooms and 2 single berths in saloon
OCEANUS was the last Caliber 33 built before a small sugar scoop stern was added for the Caliber 35, otherwise she is identical to all Caliber 35's produced prior to the introduction of the LRC35 model in 1995.
We purchased OCEANUS in 1997 from the first owner who maintained her to a high standard and we have continued to meticulously maintain and upgrade her. The surveyor in 2018 wrote “Oceanus is in that rarest state, having no deficiencies in structure, installations, nor finish. She is well suited to her intended use, inshore, alongshore and offshore cruising on the waters of the Atlantic coast, to the Bahamas”. As my wife and I enter our seventh decade we have reluctantly decided to find a new owner for Oceanus. Many boaters delay making this sad decision but postponing too long means the boat slowly degrades.
