Two saddlebags and a cooler make touring on the Kawasaki 1100 STX D.I. a breeze.
October 29, 2001
The most common complaint from long-distance touring riders? Sore hands. Second most common complaint? Not enough place to hold all the goodies for day's ride, much less a ride where an overnight stay along the way will be involved.
Sure, the fuel-efficient Kawasaki 1100 STX D.I. has serious stowage capacity, some 23.5 gallons of it. But for some ambitious riders — and long rides — that still might not be enough. That's why the manufacturer offers two saddlebags and a cooler for the three-rider watercraft.
Each water-resistant bag is constructed of sturdy vinyl and has a heavy-duty zipper. The cooler mounts on the platform aft of the saddle. The saddlebags mount on each side of the rear section of the saddle. All three bags are strongly secured by adjustable nylon straps with quick-release buckles for easy removal.
In addition to its main compartment, each saddlebag has a tight mesh pocket. To keep things stylish, the saddlebags, as well as the cooler, are color-matched (silver) to the 1100 STX D.I.
