    Tartan 37 CB

    Chula Vista, California
    1985
    $51,500

My health requires I sell my boat. I will work with Broker who has a serious buyer. The Dock master said a qualified buyer may keep the boat in its slip in this great live aboard marina. The Teak interior of this boat is beautiful. From 1976 to 1989 Tartan built 486 Tartan 37s; virtually all of those boats are still in service. Hull 453, has a blue bottom and white cabin top, interior made of Teak wood, there is also a stainless frame for a dodger and Bimini. My boat is registered in Arizona where there are no sales taxes on pre-owned boats and can be registered in any state the buyer chooses. The cockpit has an Edison Binnical, Ritchie Compass, Stainless Steering Wheel, a B&G Vulcan 9 Electronic GPS Chart Plotter, providing boat position, direction, wind direction, depth, ground speed, tides, Man Over Board or Distress system, etc, a teak foldable table, under a Blue helm cover. Two Lewmar 48 primary self tailing winches, two Lewmar 30 cabin top winches, Teak handrails, two rotate-able Stainless air intakes with stainless steel guards around them, two Stainless exhaust fans, Teak cockpit seat grating, Cockpit cushions, Cockpit lockers on starboard side and stern, Swim Ladder, Keel stepped aluminum mast with one Lewmar 40 winch, a Harken Furler with a recently rebuilt head sail, a Main sail with cover, (A back up Jib and 75oz Spinnaker are stored under the V-birth), Two Bose speakers are in the stern cockpit locker. When the centerboard is up the draft is 4' 2”, and 7' 9” when down. There are 3 anchors: 20H Danforth, 35# CQR, 60# CQR approximately 200' combination chain and nylon main anchor rode, approximately 150' stern anchor chain and rode, 2 blade prop and backup 3 blade prop. An Emergency Rudder System is in the stern locker. Entering the Tartan 37 to port is a Double Quarter Birth behind the NavStation, which has a large chart table that raises for storage under, a comfortable bench seat, with three AGM batteries and a main battery switch below, 3 drawers on the right side, 120V and 12V circuit breaker panels on the left behind a Captain's storage cabinet, a main operation panel with gauges and switches, a Garmin 210 AIS VHF, Pioneer radio with CD plus and a 10 CD player. Starboard is a Galley with double sink, a 3 burner gimbled stove with oven, a 12cf Top loading ice box with a freezer compartment cooled by a New Nova Kool refrigeration system, lots of Cabinets and storage, an electric and manual foot pump for water, one carbon and heavy metals filter and another 0.05 micron filter, provide excellent water. The Main Salon has a Starboard Single Birth/bench with a large water tank below, and to Port a pull out Double Birth/bench with a smaller water tank below. Additional Storage is under the bench seats, storage lockers are behind and above, and a starboard hanging locker is forward. On the Port side mounted to the forward bulkhead is a Barometer and beautiful six place table, with storage for book behind it, that folds out of the way. Two Bose speakers are forward inside of cabinets. The Head is forward on the Port side with a sink, toilet, and shower area with one privacy door to the Main Salon and one privacy door to the V-Birth. The V-birth is forward through another privacy door with a hanging locker and 3 drawers on starboard, and another hanging locker on port. Chain locker access is forward of the V-birth. There is storage under the V-Birth. Additional equipment include 2 Solar panels with 2 USB ports in the Controller. A Xantrex True Charge 20+ amp battery charger, and Shore Power cord. 2 Fire Extinguishers. An Autohelm 4000 Steering (taken apart for repair), recent install of a B&G Chart Plotter. Forward, stern, and mast running lights, LED Anchor lite, Fore Deck Light. A 22LG30 22” TV with mounting bracket is included. Sun covers and bug screens for forward hatch, center hatch, and main hatch, with easy ingress and egress. Boat is set up for long distance sailing with Two 10 gallon propane tanks, 3 AGM batteries and solar panels. I was preparing the boat to take it to Central and South American countries who have 12V but not 120V 60 Hz electrical; they are normally 220V and 50 Hz. My boat is set up so a 12V to120V inverter can be installed and connected to a battery in order to provide power to all on board outlets for small 120V appliances. Do not plug it in when the shore power cord is connected to a generator or to shore power! Most electronic equipment like computers and phones are designed to be used world wide on 12V, 120V or 220V power systems. There is a lot of safety equipment including: Flairs, B&G distress capability, a large Horseshoe throwable Device-Type IV P.F.D., a Life Sling Overboard Rescue System. six or more Type IV throwable flotation cushions, SOSpenders for adults over 90 lbs, four Life Vests, West Marine 70' rescue throw rope, 2 Foul Weather Gauchos, 2 harnesses with lanyards, a Bosun's chair, Heavy duty docking lines, plenty of extra Lines and Ropes. Blackout covers for the portlights, which are handy in hot climates. Plenty of 12V lighting. The lamp over Navstation can be switched to a white or red lamp for night use. Two great reasons to have a Universal M40 motor are parts can be found anywhere around the world and it has a Hurth transmission Model HBW-100. The transmission is designed to permit reversing at full engine speed, which should only be used in an Emergency. Do not leave gear in forward when sailing, Gear must be in neutral for free wheeling or shifted into reverse to lock propeller while sailing. There are manuals and documents regarding most of the equipment on the boat.
